One of the worst thing during a natural or man disaster is lack of running water and unable to use the "Modern" toilette. Not having a working toilette is nightmare if you never been in a third world or in camping trip. If you don't use the proper toilette it will create a sanitation problem and will eventually will bring diseases. So how to prepare a working toilette that does not require flushing and be safe to use? 1. Find an open area several feet away from your sleeping and dining area. 2. Dig a hole that will have x- feet widths by x- feet length and x -feet deep. Depends on how long you are going to stay and and how many people will use it.
4th. Put the same poles perpendicular with the other poles as shown in the figure below.
5th. Cover the top with card board or some plywood and make sure leave a square hole not too wide or not too small. May be 1' by 1'.
6th. Dig small holes on each corners for the pole stands
7th. Cover the wall with canvas, plastic sheet or plywood and ready to go. If it is during a rainy season make sure you cover the top part. 8th. When the help arrives. Put back the dirt and make the ground the way it found it.
Make sure the toilette is far enough from your sleeping and dining area. If you seal the hole tight it will not emit any kind of bad smell
