Well here is the story. Ethiotrans stands for Ethiopian Translation. Several years ago when we started our company we wanted to start from what we know the best, i.e. the Ethiopian languages, and we called ourselves EthioTrans. If you just focus only on our name, you may say it is kind of narrow, however our name is only refering how we started but not where we are now and where we will be in the future. Ethiotrans, born and rised in San Diego, California. Ethiotrans founder Amde Mitiku is from Ethiopia but lived, graduated, and worked almost half of his life in San Diego. He graduated from San Diego State University in Electrical Engineering emphasizing in hardware Engineering but worked as software engineering in several local companies. Now he is a Senior Software engineer. Prior to starting Ethiotrans he was working as a senior localization software engineer at PacketVideo Co. He was part of the Product Development Engineering team developing high end video streaming software for cell phones, PDAs, desktop applications and servers.
